Enjoying Friendship at Church

When I think about all that single moms have to do, I almost have a panic attack. I wish other Christians could understand how much they need some extra attention on Sunday morning. And also how much they don’t necessarily want anything more than a nursery or Sunday school class for their kids so that they can enjoy the service.

I don’t think Christian single moms wants a bunch of pity attention on Sunday. They don’t need people pointing out how they are Christian, and a mom, but they don’t have a husband. It’s a little off putting to have to explain this on every morning to new comers.

When you look at people in your church, do you see them as potential friends? People that you might have something in common with and want to connect with them?

This is how I imagine these women want you to look at them. They might like the same hobbies as you or they might just want your teenager to babysit their kids one night a week. They probably have some things to give, and also some things to offer (like some spending cash for your lazy son or daughter who just wants an easy 20 bucks from your own wallet).

They are a family unit unto themselves so they have dishes to do and home maintenance to either perform or hire contractors to accomplish.

Not every woman is the same, but I don’t know very many that don’t like companionship. People who will call impromptu to see how they are doing. And even if they can’t talk at the moment, they will deep done love that you thought of them. As a friend, not just to check up on their spiritual progress. Just as someone who likes them as they are and just wants to hear their voice.

So think about how friendly you are. You can end up connecting with a lot of people you thought you might have nothing in common with. So get out there in church and start up a few chats or volunteer. You might just meet a lifelong friend from any walk of life.

Jill at Fitness Health and Happiness shared 10 Plant Based Grilling Recipes.  I can’t wait to get the hubs cooking for me when I can chew again.

Molly Galbraith shared the truth and I admire her blog posts regarding the hardships of getting fit and being a fit girl.  Make sure you read parts 1 and 2.

That’s all folks for this week.  I really need to do this more often.  There are so many inspiring ladies out there with great tips and incite to the health and wellness world.  I only hope to grow more like them.  Have a great weekend everyone!
